Chocolate Fudge Pop Tarts

These sinfully rich and decadent homemade pop tarts are made with a flaky and buttery pie crust pop tart pastry and filled with an irresistible dark chocolate fudge filling.

Add 8 tbsp of unsalted butter to 1 1/3 cup of flour, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tbsp cocoa powder

Stir the butter into the dry ingredients and add 1/4 cup ice water until it forms a dough.

wrap the dough in plastic wrap and press it into a disk. Place in the fridge for 1 hour.

Roll the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut it into 3x4 inch rectangles. Brush one half of each with egg

Scoop the fudge filling by the tablespoon and add to one half of each pop tart center.

Flatten the fudge filling slightly with your fingers so that it's not a mound.

Place the other half of the dough on top and press gently to seal it around the edges

Use a fork to seal the edges of the dough together

Transfer the pop tarts to a parchment lined baking tray and freeze while the oven preheats to 375 F

Bake for 20 minutes, cool and then top with chocolate glaze and drizzle with melted chocolate!
