Sour Cream and Onion Breakfast Biscuits

These sour cream and onion breakfast biscuits are soft, buttery, and a little tangy with the best sour cream and onion flavor. Eat them on their own hot from the oven, or serve them with breakfast!

step 1

Whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 cup white cheddar, 1 cup green onion, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp onion powder, and 1 tbsp baking powder

step 2

Freeze 1 stick of butter and then use a cheese grater to grate it into the dry ingredients.

step 3

Mix 1 1/8 cup sour cream into the dough until it starts to stick together, then dump it out onto a lightly floured surface.

step 4

Press the dough into a rectangle and fold it half. Repeat the process for a total of 2 folds. This creates the layers.

step 5

Use a sharp knife dipped in flour to cut straight down into the dough and cut out 8 square biscuits.

step 6

Lightly brush the tops with butter then bake at 450 F for 15 minutes until golden brown.
