First make the ermine boiled milk frosting. Set it aside to cool to room temperature.

Bake the chocolate cake layers. Then finish mixing the ermine frosting; spread the frosting on top of one of the cake layers.

Make the chocolate ganache icing.

Pour the chocolate ganache icing over the top of the cake. Pipe the swirl on top with the reserved frosting.
